    you gotta love how well dressed these folks were/ one gentleman in a white shirt and tie and the other in military uniform. do you suppose those are sacks of mail on the porch/ does the sign on the car say stage?

      I do love it !

      It seems like folks were always dressed well. And though I know they were inconvenient and to some maybe oppressive/restrictive, I also like the long swishy skirts the women wore ( https://lynette707.wordpress.com/2009/11/06/swishy-skirts/) .

      And yup, that was the modern “stage”. The term must have taken a while to fade, even after the “stage” was motorized. My guess would be mail, too.
