    are there any maps of where this railroad? was this a place to drop logs in the bay so they could be transported to Eureka for milling?

      You know, I so wondered why that was called a “dump” which I always think is for garbage.

      I bet you’re right and that is where they rolled the logs into the slough so they could be floated down. If I ever run across a map, I’ll let you know.
