Fortuna’s Love of Cars Continues …

Shoot, this may be one of my favorite photos–there are so many fantastic details.

PLEASE click to enlarge and you’ll notice the Fortuna Theater, playing When a Man’s a Man, on the left  and that the town loved cars long before this weekend’s Auto Xpo.

Check out the billboards on the left. Looks like they also had two fueling stations, tire shop AND a garage/repair shop.  And is that a Chevy Dealership on the left?

Check out the AutoExpo down in Fortuna this weekend and you may see some of these very same cars cruising Main Street.

  1. Love your blog post! I am going up to North California any good recommendations of historical landmarks over there. Other than those commonly known.

Here’s my upstarting blog that covers much of Southern California http://lifeaccordingtoerick.blogspot.com/

Hi, Hopefully you haven’t made your trip yet, and if so, I hope you found Old Town Eureka (be sure to wander the alleys) and Ferndale.
Arcata has some nice buildings also-Jacoby Storehouse has significant history, but other than that, I just suggest you ask folks and wander a lot during your visit. If you go over HWY 299 to Redding, there are lots of historical spots, one of the most notable being Helena, just off the highway. The others are marked, I think, with landmark signs.

      Hope you enjoy.
